Many in the Church have said recently that this isn’t a time to fear. And by that they mean we should not fear the coronavirus and I would agree. But it is still a time to fear. It is a time to fear God. The world, and unfortunately the Church, has lost its godly fear, its view of God in reverence and awe. And it is especially important in these last days to return to our fear of Him and live accordingly.
Jesus spoke about who to fear when he said,
“And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him! Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
Luke 12:4-7 NKJV
Jesus tells them to fear God but also tells them not to fear (your circumstances) because you are more valuable to God than many sparrows and therefore He’s got your back.
God wants to bless His children, to watch over them for their good, to plant them and not uproot them.
God told Moses when referring to the Israelites that He had delivered out of Egypt, “Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them and with their children forever!”
Deuteronomy 5:29 NKJV
God give us a heart to truly know You and fear You and serve You. We want to be Your children and You to be our God, for You are a good, good Father. That’s who You are!
