Back To Normal

Here in the United States we have been experiencing for several weeks now what the rest of the world is also experiencing, a pandemic none of us have ever encountered in our lifetime. It has taken a toll on our finances. It has taken a toll on our mental wellbeing. It has taken a toll on our physical wellbeing. People repeatedly can be heard saying, “I just want things to get back to normal.”

Getting back to what we call normal is the last thing we need to do. Think about it, our normal was running continuously with no time for family, friends or neighbors. Now people are outside walking the neighborhood and talking with each other. Now people are calling family and friends to check on them, or sending cards in the mail to let them know they were thought about and cared for.

Our normal as a nation was killing babies, children demanding everyone call them by a different pronoun, politicians doing everything they could to make a successful president look bad so they could take back power and resume their degradation of the moral, financial and spiritual climate of our nation.

Is it possible that this is a wake-up call to the world that it needs to change? Biblical prophecy would indicate that we are definitely in the last days and God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Instead of wishing for things to go back to normal, maybe we should make the most of our opportunities and share the love of Jesus with a lost and dying world, before it’s too late.
